Beat the Clock was formed in Minneapolis in 1988. It consisted of
Chris Beaty (vox/guitar),
Tom Scott (vox/drums), Ken Chastain (vox/percussion/guitar/anything
that moves), and Jim Anton
(vox/bass). They released
two self-produced albums, Beat the Clock and The Funk Bus, both on their own "Booty Rock"
label. In addition, they contributed a track to the AIDS awareness fundraiser disc "Break the Silence", and produced an
extremely limited-edition live cassette, "Beat the Clock - Live on the Psych Bike". After seven years of gigs
and fun, they disbanded amicably in September of 1995 and the individual members went on to pursue other interests.
August 2003: Chris Beaty is releasing a new album called
"OMID". Read about it here. A few
familiar faces helped him with the recording. Also, an album release
party is scheduled for Thursday, August 28th at the Fine Line Music
Cafe.
Here's the latest information on what they're up to.
Here's a list of all the gigs they played,

Jim,Tom and Ken went on to play every Sunday in a band called Greazy
Meal. They were very funky; they've since disbanded as well!
